My Fitness Journey: From Thin to Fit

I've shared my fitness journey in the past on the blog and want to provide an update about where I am in my journey. I created two videos on my Youtube channel sharing why I started a fitness journey, what I've acheived on my journey and a few of my future fitness goals. Below I'm posting the first video about my journey. After watching the first video, you can watch part two here.

Nude Shoes to Match Your Skin-tone: Nubian Skin Launches Shoe Collection

In 2014, the lingerie brand, Nubian Skin launched a collection of nude bras, underwear, and hosiery for women of color to much acclaim. I remember being really excited about thier launch, because as a black woman the nude lingerie and hosiery available in stores often did not match my particular shade of brown, something many black and brown women understood.

I'm excited to learn that Nubian Skin is now expanding to shoes. Women of color can now find a great pair of nude pumps and ballet flats to match our beaiutiful range of skin tones. Founder Ade Hassan notes,  " This is something I've wanted to do for a long time, and I'm so happy to see it come to fruition. I chose styles that I  would love to wear, and having a nude that matches my skin-tone is really amazing."

The entire collection is now available for purchase at nubianskin.com. I will defintely be purchasing those pumps!

Cheers,
~Nika

Fashion Designer, Carly Cushnie, Ties the Knot in Mexico City

Carly Cushnie has been a long time favorite on Faces of Black Fashion. We love her hair, her fierce style  and that she is a badass Fashion Designer who co-founded the label Cushnie et Ochs. I also love that she is a fellow Jamaican sistrin'.  Last week, the British-Jamaican Fashion Designer tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Mexico City. Enjoy the photos below:

I love that the Jamaican Flag is a part of this photo.
