Introducing Channing of Channing in the City

Channing is my friend in my head. A few short years ago when I had a style blog, she interviewed me for a feature on Coco & Creme. Channing was as sweet as ever during the interview, and the feature turned out great! Since then I've "watched" Channing grow as a writer (she's been published in some of the world's largest publications ya'll!), and I'm a huge fan of her blog Channing in the City where you'll see her fab style on display. It is my pleasure to introduce Channing of Channing in the City.

So tell us about yourself, who is Channing?
This is always, like, the hardest question ever, isn't it? I am a 25 year old, growing into someone I actually like. I'm super short. Obsessed with sequins, nail polish and books. Closeted-history buff. Easily inspired. I'm a fun girl, hehe =)

What inspired you to start your blog, Channing in the City?
After a slight detour after college, I needed a job and wasn't sure what to do to build clips as a writer. Fashion was the only thing I felt passionate enough to talk about all the time. I had been reading blogs for years and always wanted one, so that, plus the need to build clips made perfect timing. I'm so glad I did.
How would you define your style?
Hmm. Moody. Actually, it's either really girly or I'm wearing clothing from the boys' department. Or a mashup of the two. Think a bowtie with a sequin skirt.

Who are your style icons?
Audrey Hepburn and Kerry Washington for their timelessness. June Ambrose for her fearlessness.
What are three must-haves for a woman's closet this summer?
Most definitely a maxi dress, cute crossbody bag and a fedora. Those three things can be mixed and matched with just about anything in your wardrobe for a fun summer look.

Anything else?
Thanks, Nika! I've loved your style for a while now ( since we 'met' back when I interviewed you for Coco & Creme). I like what you're doing here and I appreciate you thinking of me for your audience. xChan
