Introducing Tish of Chic MeMe

I have always admired DIYers for their ingenuity, creativity and patience. I tell myself one day I will complete more DIY projects, I haven't done so yet. Thus, when I saw that Tish was a DIYer I ran over to her blog for inspiration. Not only will you find projects Tish have completed with detailed instructions, you will also find posts related to fashion and beauty. Like me she loves vintage, and her vintage pinterest board is simply drool-worthy. She's even inspired me to create one.  It's my pleasure to introduce Tish and her lovely blog Chic MeMe.

So tell us more about yourself, who is Tish?

Well Tish or "ChicT", is a New York City native who no matter what, is constantly drawn back to fashion although she has a career in Food and Beverage. I just have this creative side, almost like a dual personality ...(I know cliche right?) I gets these random, spunky ideas to create, make and express, and that usually leads to a night of DIYing. Its weird because my true style isn't at all anything reflective of what I wear to work.

How did you get your start in blogging? What can we expect to find on your blog?

I started in blogging almost two years ago after the birth of my daughter, who is now two. I had the time so why not? After abandoning my blog, chicmeme two years ago, for real life, I recently decided to resurrect and relaunch the beginning of February. I began blogging again because I have loads of DIY's that I've created so I figured why not share it with the world!

What are three of your favorite items in your closet?

My first love is not actual an item from my closet but it is my MAC Fuchsia lip pencil, wear it almost everyday.
During the cold winter, I really can't do without my Mongolian fur boots, that I actually hated at first.
I would go insane if something happened to my bangle/bracelet collection, that took over 10 years to build.

Who are your style icons, where do you get your inspiration?

I honestly get inspiration from anything, be it a Foreign Film that I watching, the interior design of a restaurant or a Stylish person that passes me on the street. I really admire and love Kerry Washington, of course Solange Knowles, Tracy Ellis Ross and I have recently gained a new sense of style admiration for Vh1's Love and Hip Hop Chrissy Lampkin

What trends/looks are you looking forward to wearing this Spring?

1940's style, I'm am so happy the Marilyn Monroe-isque style is back, Scuba inspired neons, lace lace lace and Mexican/Navaho print, textures and fabrics and I am loving the color combos of mint and nude.

Introducing Lee of Milk and Honeeyz

I am so happy I started Black Fashion Bloggers. I have met so many dynamic women who are showing me and the world that it is possible to take care of others, achieve academic and professional goals and look great doing it.  I am delighted to introduce you to the Lovely Lee, a well-rounded and dynamic woman who is showing us that you can wear many hats and still look fabulous (just look at that black dress!!!). Attorney and mother are just two of the hats that Lee wears, and she joins the ranks of the fabulous features who are showing us how to be well-rounded, dynamic and fabulous. Introducing Lee and her lovely blog, Milk and Honeeyz.

So tell us about yourself, who is Lee?

I'm a mother, an attorney, an entrepreneur, and a single woman.  I'm extremely ambitious, relentless, hardworking and fun!! I love the arts, fashion, music, movies and my family.

How did you get your start in blogging why a style blog?

I recently started my blog as an outlet for me to share my personal style and experiences as a young mother, attorney, single woman and fashion lover.  I try to cover different topics of interest and various experiences and how they are reflected in my day to day style.

How would you describe your style?

If I had to describe my style, I would describe it as diverse.  I don't subscribe to any one fashion mantra and very frequently bounce from one category to another depending on my mood or what event I'm attending. I easily go from conservative, classic, simple, casual chic to funky, sexy, high end, vibrant and trendy.  I love the idea of balancing conservative roles without compromising my love of fashion and style!

Anything else?
One of my goals with my blog is to inspire young women who have many responsibilities and have somehow lost themselves and fashion sense in their individual roles.  I don't believe its a contradiction to be an excellent parent, ambitious professional and fashionista all at the same time! I believe that we can do it all and do it all very well, hence Milk and Honeeyz!

Thank you Lee! Please check out her lovely blog HERE.
